    HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION ALERT

    GETTING TO TINKERTOWN
    CAUTION! Highway construction of a ROUNDABOUT at the intersection of NM State HWY 14 and Sandia Crest Road (SR536) is in progress and access to Tinkertown via Sandia Crest Road is OPEN. Watch carefully as signage changes. Expected completion is summer 2025.

    URGENT GOOGLE MAPS ISSUE!
    Do not rely on the Google Maps App to get to Tinkertown.     Map directions, as reported by several visitors, are incorrectly sending people coming from Santa Fe via I-25 through the town of Placitas and over an unmaintained dirt forest road to Tinkertown. From NM HWY 14 at I-40 Google Maps is incorrectly detouring to Ranch Road with locked gate.

    The best driving route, even with construction, is to find NM HWY 14 from I-40 or I-25 and heading towards SR536 at Frost Road in Sandia Park.

    Apple Maps appears to be providing correct driving directions.
